Construction runs in the blood of David Blum. David grew up in a household where construction dominated the family conversation.
David's father, a proud pipefitter/welder, was part of the team involved in the construction of a major petrochemical plant in central Illiniois. After bypassing an offer to work on the Alaskan pipeline, he choose to work in the oilfields of Africa and Saudi Arabia both of which at the time offered a more friendly environment for the family.
After five years oversees, he returned to home in central Illinois and took a position with a national mechanical contracting firm where David joined his father.
After High School and College, in 1983 David secured his license and joined an insurance agency whose primary focus was commercial insurance and bonding for contractors.
